This job was in the countryside outside Lurgan, a short distance from Lurgan town centre. The floor was of a very high quality and very dense Cappuccino Polished Marble. It was a simple job of removing an incorrectly applied top coat acrylic sealer from Polished marble, diamond polishing a few light scratches out and resealing the floor.
- First we deep – cleaned the floor to remove all surface contamination and to be able to see any further potential problems like staining or scratching.
- As there was minimum scratching and no discernible staining we began our work with a fairly high grit diamond (400). This served to remove the scratching and renewed the floor completely while avoiding the potential to open the pores of the marble.
- We continued our diamond polishing to a high 3,000 grit before powder polishing the floor to a super high shine.
- The floor was then ready for dry buffing, before the application of “pro tw lux lo”, a high quality solvent based impregnating sealer. This sealer has excellent protective qualities against oil, fat, coffee, tea, red wine and other common fluids.
- A final buff and the floor was complete and ready for years of looking good.
Our last job, as always, was to coach the householder on how to easily and properly clean and maintain the floor. This floor was sparkling when restored and one of the nicest we have seen in a while.
